Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Ask Thane collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Ask Thane website and Slack-based task tracking product.
1. What We Collect
We collect data you provide directly and data generated from product use.
- Waitlist data: email, name, company, and notes submitted on askthane.com.
- Slack message content and metadata needed to infer and track tasks.
- Workspace and user identifiers (for example Slack workspace IDs and user IDs).
- Task records, task history, reminders, follow-up records, and note/memory entries.
- Conversation access/membership metadata used to enforce visibility controls.
- Operational telemetry and billing data, including token usage and estimated API cost.
2. How We Use Data
- Provide task tracking, reminders, follow-ups, and conversational answers.
- Maintain product reliability, debugging, fraud prevention, and security monitoring.
- Measure and bill product usage where billing is enabled.
- Communicate about pilots, onboarding, support, or service updates.
3. AI Provider Processing
Ask Thane sends relevant prompts and context to third-party model providers (for example OpenAI and optionally Anthropic) to produce responses.
We minimize and scope data where practical, but we cannot guarantee absolute privacy from model providers. Your use of Ask Thane involves processing by those providers under their own terms and privacy policies.
4. Third-Party Services
We use third-party services to operate the product, including:
- Slack (message and workspace integration).
- Cloudflare (hosting, edge runtime, and database infrastructure).
- OpenAI and/or Anthropic (LLM inference).
- Stripe (billing and payment processing, when enabled).
5. Retention
We retain data for as long as needed to operate the service, maintain auditability, meet legal obligations, and support billing and abuse prevention. Retention windows may change as the product evolves.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, and transmission/storage risks remain.
7. Your Choices
To request deletion, correction, export, or account/workspace data review, contact garrett@askthane.com. We may need to verify authority before fulfilling requests.
8. Changes
We may update this policy over time. Material updates will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
